Hi Professor Garrett,

I just wanted to say thank you for making my last semester at SDSU truly memorable. You are by far one of my favorite professors I have encountered at this university. I truly enjoyed learning from you and for giving me encouragement to figure out what I want to do with my degree. I was never into policy but I may want to try advocating for older adults.... Again, thank you for an amazing semester.

Sincerely,

JW

Dear Professor Garrett (Mario),

When I got home, my husband (...) said to me, "There was not a more interesting lecture in all of San Diego tonight.. wish more people could have heard it."   He's right. It was fascinating and stimulating talk and what a gifted speaker you are.

Thank you for all the work you put into preparing this wonderful talk.  I'm so sorry that we had so few guests; I was certain we would have 50-75 at least.

I hope our paths cross again in the future.

Sincerely,
K

Hello Dr. Garrett!

.....I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed your class. I learned so much about aging and how it encompasses so many things, no wonder there is no theory of aging! I also learned a lot about myself, about my capabilities as a student. Iactually wrote a paper on neurogenesis and epigenetics - something I never thought I would be able to do. Your process works. As frustrating and uncomfortable as I was, I can now say I am relieved and happy that I went through it all.

I honestly wish I could take another course with you, but I don't think you are teaching anything that I can take next semester. I have to take an elective next semester and there aren't any upper division gerontology courses that I haven't taken already.

But thanks for the great semester! I came into this year without any true knowledge of what gerontology is and you convinced me that I am in the right field! I ended my first year of graduate school with a bang!

Have a great summer!
